FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the largest part you can cut?

Our laser bed is 60” x 120”. We typically request a 1/2” border around the edge of the sheet, so the maximum part size is 59” x 119”.

Can you cut non-metals?

We can’t cut plastic, wood, or other non-metals.

What are your lead times for laser cutting?

Our standard lead time is 5 business days for prototype and short-run laser cutting jobs, but we do our best to meet our customers’ requested lead times. We’ll cut your job sooner when we can.

What file types do you accept?

We prefer to receive DXF or DWG files for laser cut parts, and Solidworks or STEP files for bent parts. We can accept most vector formats and will convert them before exporting to our laser nesting software. If you can’t provide a DXF or DWG, we recommend including a 1” reference square in your drawing so we can ensure the file is scaled properly.

What is the thickest material you can cut?

We can cut up to 1/2” mild steel, 1/2” stainless steel, 1/4” aluminum, 1/4” brass, 3/16” bronze and copper.

How is your pricing calculated?

We nest all of your parts to get the most efficient material usage possible. While many other companies calculate prices based on the bounding rectangle of each part, we nest the parts for every quote so we can offer the best possible pricing.

Do you offer sheet metal bending?

We do! We have state-of-the-art CNC press brakes that allow us to bend most parts quickly and accurately. Bending typically adds about a week to the overall lead time.

Can you ship my order?

We can ship small orders within the United States via UPS or USPS. We don’t typically offer LTL shipping, so it is best to pick up larger orders from our shop in Richmond, CA.
